Sri Harichandra Ganapathy Temple - Kumbhaphishekam falls on Feburary 2016

SriSubramanyaswamy

In Kali yuga all poojas would bring in desired benefits to the person who has been doing them only after worshiping Lord Maha Ganapathy. Lord Ganapathy bestows a person to live a healthy, wealthy and prosperous life by reducing obstacles in an effective manner. He also appears in 32 different forms and Sri Harichandra Ganapathy is one among them. According to vedic scriptures, Lord Ganapathy will help his devotees whenever they face troubles in life.

A thief used to offer his share of loot to the Lord Harichandra Ganapathy and this has been going on for years. It so happened that on one occasion, the thief was caught by the villagers and after reprimanding him was let go off. He got a dream where Lord Ganapathy asked him to give up stealing and start a fresh life. It is only after this incident, the thief stopped stealing and started leading a new life and it is believed that this was the reason for calling the Lord Ganapathy as Shri Harichandra ganapathy.

The other temple Shri Subramanya Swamy temple that got eroded over 200 years is another temple that has a great history and is believed to be having great powers.

Both these temples were constructed over 700 years ago as believed by the villagers now and is in need of a renovation. The Balalayam was conducted on September 9th 2015 for both the temples. With the continued divine blessings, Sri Chaitanya PuraAsthikasamaj), has started Sri Harichandra Ganapathy and Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple renovation work and planning to conduct “MahaKumbhabhishekam” in Feb 2016.

As per the latest estimates sheet, we need Rs. 700000/- for the renovation and MahaKumbhabhishekam.

We pray Lord Maha Ganapathy / Lord Subramanya Swamy / Maha Periava for everyone’s happiness.

Sri Sakthi Vinayagar Temple - Kumbhaphishekam falls on 31st August 2014

SriSakthiVinayagar

With blessings from Maha Periyava and Guru Mandali’s Anugraham; great Sri Vidhya upasakar (disciple of Sri Pattu Sastrikal), Sukla Yajur Vedi , has recommended August 31 2014 as good date for Maha Kumbhaphiskam of Sri Sakthi Vinayagar temple. This date is very important / opt for our village because of the following two reasons

  • It falls on Swathi star (Aug 31st) and both our Perumal temple and Velural temple Kumbhaphishekam happened on the same day
  • Since we are planning for 18 Kala homams one of the (15th) kala homam comes on Vinayaga Chaturthi day (Friday – Aug 29th) which is a very auspicious day for all Ganapathy devotees

We understand that doing 18 kalams Kumbhaphishekm would bring in lot of benefits to the village and people who have been associated with this mammoth task. In Kali yuga all poojas would bring in desired benefits to the person who has been doing only after worshiping lord Maha Ganapathy.

When we searched ‘Deivathin Kural’ for some good quotes about Maha Ganapathy from Maha Periyava we have got tons and tons of quotes from Maha Periyava and maha periyava himself quoted couple of incidents happened to HIM in those chapters.

The committee has met lot of scholars both on the Tantric and Vaidheeka ends to finalize a person who can lead this mega function. Everyone had voted for Sri Sudhakar Sarma as he has started his life as a Vedic expert and got on to Sri Vidhya markam later. He has done many homams and he is the only person who knows this KUmbhapahishekam suthram in the entire Sukla Yajur group. He belongs to Guhananda Manali and the service that the mandali has done to the society can’t be explained in few lines.

Inspired by Maha Periyava’s quotes we are also thinking of conducting sada veda Brahamanal boojanam event at our village ( feast to 108 qualified veda brahnamals) and most of us would have gone through the benefits of doing this in multiple occasions.

Including Renovation , the total cost is going to be around Rs 9,00,000. As usual this is our village event / family event which is being organized for loka shamam and for all our wellness.

Tamil New years day Celebration

TamilNewYear

Both Tamil New years day function at Meenkashi Sundareswarar temple and Sri Rama Navami function at Lakshmi Narayanar temple went well.

Two days Veda Parayanam (April 13 and 14) at Sivan temple has been recited by 6 veda Brahnamals. On 14th April morning, Special Abhishekams have been organized to all the deities and the highlight was Rudra Abhishekam to Lord Sundareswarar. People whoever attended the 14th April session had told the Samaj that they have not got similar experience anywhere else in the past.

After Veda Parayanam, Panchanga Padanam (reading out Jaya Varusham Panchangam) by Sri Krishnamoorthy Sastrikal from Thitakudi was another great event that we have all attended.

Villagers were really happy as hearing Panchanga Padanam on First day on the year would wash out all Sins that we do without our knowledge.

Panakam and Neer moor distributed to all Bakthas followed by Samarathana.

Ongoing Projects

Hut

The Sivacharya is currently staying in a rented house that requires immediate renovation. Our Samaj has hence decided to provide a thatched hut to the Sivacharya so as to enable him to take care of Ambal & Swamy.

To enable Sivacharya and Battar to take care of one kala pooja to Ambal and Swamy, our Samaj would be providing Rs 4000 to each of them

School

The school located in front of the temple is currently educating more than 75 children in the village. And the children sit on the floor to take their lessons. The children are left with no other option but to sit on damp floors during the monsoon season. Our Samaj is planning to lay the flooring for this school at an estimated cost of Rs 15,000/-.

UcchistaGanapati UcchistaGanapati, Tantricform of Lord Ganesha
UcchistaGanapati is the 8th form among LordGanesha’s 32 forms. Many websites modern books described this Ganesha form as an exclusive Tantric deity form (associated with unclean things like orts, whose worship belongs to vamachara). But it is not true as per an ancient scripture known as “UcchistaGanapathi Puja Vidhanam’. The scripture explains the puja procedure in detail along with all slokasmantrams. UcchistaGanapati is also mentioned in 16 types of Ganesha (ShodashaGanapati). But this form of Ganesha is not included in EkavimsathiGanesha forms (21 forms of Lord Ganesha).

Appearance & Iconography of UcchistaGanapathi
UcchistaGanapathi appears in blue colour (and in some scriptures, describes as black complexioned). He is ChaturbhujaGanapathi (four armed). In his hands, he holds a blue lotus, pomegranate, a sprig of paddy, veena (musical instrument), and prayer beads, holding his Shakti in one hand.

UcchistaGanapatiMantram: UcchistaGaneshaDhyanam

Worship
UcchistaGanapati is worshipped in Tantric form of worship as per many modern books & other sources. UcchistaGanapathiUpasana is one of the powerful & touch puja methods in Hinduism.
